Mood: waiting for wind
6th May 2009
Windsurfing: Pevensey Bay
Wind Direction: SW - WSW
Wind Stength: 14-24 knots
Surf / Sea State: some swell generally choppy
Air Temperature: nice
Sea Temperature: ok
Weather: sunny and windy becoming overcast
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Baled work early to meet with VFW Mark and got to Pevensey to find him already out with Francis and another fella rigged and ready to go.
Wind was difficult to call and I was sorely tempted to go 5.3m & twin 84 but I could see Mark was on his 102 RRD and looked to be his 5.7m.
He looked pretty powered up but there were big holes too.
I played safe and rigged the 5.8m SF and grabbed the 10'5 to see how it went. Secretly I was hoping it'd be way too big and I'd need to come in and rig the 5.3m and twinny .... sadly not.
It was pretty windy but 5.8m never felt too big. I would have had more fun on a more conventional board as far as jumping is concerned perhaps, otherwise the 10'5 worked fine. Even got some backside smacks in on some of the more pronounced swell lines.
Good 90mins or so on the water, and starting to nail those quick tacks on the inside again.
First of a few sessions this week I hope !!
